B.I.S. preparedness COVID 2019 programme

ATTENTION : update on B.I.S. COVID preparedness program.

After additional consultations we provide you an update on BIS COVID preparedness program.

This message follows and replaces the previous message distributed on the precautionary measures with regard to the COVID 2019 outbreak.

B.I.S. requires that any student, B.I.S. employee or close family member who has travelled in the past 3 weeks to China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Italy (Lombardia, Veneto, Emilia Romagna) or more broadly to the countries listed on the page of the European ECDC, to report to B.I.S. to this number +32 2 230 03 39 and wait for guidance.

As a measure of prudence, symptomatic and non symptomatic families returning from Italy must refrain from sending students for 14 days following the return of the family to Brussels.

Furthermore, any student, family member of a student or B.I.S. employee who has traveled to Asia or any country with a Coronavirus caseload and presents with flu symptoms (fever, rhinitis, cough), must consult its GP (health provider), follow his/her recommendations and avoid going to his/her cabinet.

Please remember that hand hygiene (washing hands often with isopropyl alcohol – or idroalcoolic solutions with 70% or more of alcohol) is the recommended preventive strategy to protect yourself and your loved ones from the COVID 2019.

The school is working on a distance learning programme to support students which may have to stay at home as a form of prudence.
