South Campus

One school - Two campuses

Our south campus is located in the woods to the south of Brussels. Situated in the historic Domaine Latour de Freins, it is nestled in the forest of Verrewinkel. The building was designed by the architect Henri Parquet and inaugurated in the presence of King Leopold II in 1903. The building contains classrooms for each of our four programs, a library, recreational areas, science, music and art spaces, as well as a large canteen area.

This campus is led by Alan O’Leary, Head of School for the South Campus. He has extensive experience as an English educator and is an expert at the International Baccalaureate Program.

Meet our Souh Campus Head of School

I believe that indeed it does take a village to raise a child and it certainly takes a village to help a child to reach self-actualisation and their goals in life. Working with parents and the wider community, we ensure that we are united in our goal and consistent in our methodology.

As a school, we are keen to establish ourselves as a beacon of academic excellence. I take a very active role in the school’s pastoral system as I believe there is no more noble calling in life than helping a child succeed.

Whether your child is a budding scientist or sportsperson, a linguist, a mathematician, an artist, a social theorist or is simply looking for a place to belong, then we would be delighted to welcome you into our proud and diverse family.

So, please come by and see our staff and students in action. We’re confident that you’ll see BIS as we do; a place where greatness is aspired to, the drive to succeed is nurtured and where every community member is entitled to safety and respect.

I look forward to welcoming you all to our school to help us create a bright future for the next generation.
